On Tuesday, October 15th we will be testing a Pilot Picking process called “Cafeteria Style”.

The selections made in this pilot pick will NOT be final, and your current Job selections will continue through until the next board pick.

The intent of this Pilot Pick is to determine Driver Satisfaction with both the process and the outcome. Please share all thoughts and concerns with the process following the completion of the Pilot Pick. A decision will be made later between management and the Union on whether or not to use this picking method going forward and what changes might be needed.

Process:

  • Drivers will Pick in order of Seniority.
  • During your Pick, you must select Four or Five Runs (Paddles) to complete a Job (Week of Work)
    • Work Hours for a Job must total a MINIMUM of 40 Hours.
    • Start Time of one Run cannot be less than 8 Hours less than the End Time of the previous day’s Run.

NOTE: There will be five copies of Weekday Runs available at the pick (Monday-Friday). You must select the Day of the Week for each Run.

Runs that have already been selected will no longer be available at the time of your pick. Prepare for backup Run options.

Extra Board will not be an option for this pick. All Drivers must Pick work.

Planning Staff will be on-site during the process to assist with finding runs that are most in line with your preferences
