Proposed Fare Structure
| Fare Product | Proposed Price |
|---|---|
| Single Ride | $2.50 |
| 3‑Hour Pass | $2.50 |
| Reduced Fare | $1.25 |
| ADA Base Fare* | $4.50 |
| Day Pass | $5.00 |
| 31‑Day Pass | $70.00 |
*ADA Fare relates to LANtaVan fares only and are not accepted on LANtaBus or LANtaFlex.
Elimination of Physical Transfers
As part of the proposed changes, LANTA is proposing to eliminate
physical transfers issued onboard buses.
In their place, riders will use the 3‑Hour Pass, which:
- Provides unlimited rides for three hours from the time of activation
- Allows seamless connections across the system
- Costs the same price as a Single Ride ($2.50)
- Removes the need for paper transfers and helps speed up boarding
This change supports the ValleyRide account-based fare system and reduces
time-consuming cash and paper handling on buses.(Although this will still be avaliable
Upcoming Fare Changes at LANTA
LANTA will be adjusting fares to keep pace with inflation and maintain a
sustainable transit system for the Lehigh Valley.
A fare adjustment was originally planned for 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID‑19 pandemic.
The mission remains the same: to provide the highest quality and most
cost‑effective public transportation for the Lehigh Valley.
What’s Staying the Same
- Reduced Fare programs remain available for eligible riders at a .25 increase for the reduced day pass.
- Riders can continue paying with ValleyRide cards, the Transit App,
cash.
Implementation Timeline
If approved, the new fare structure would be implemented in
March. A detailed rollout schedule—including communication,
rider education, and system updates—will be posted once finalized.
