RESPONSIBILITIES: The Compliance Coordinator’s responsibilities include duties required to continuously improve LANTA’s knowledge of and compliance with Federal and state program requirements, as well as compliance with internal policies. This position acts as the Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Liaison Officer. The Compliance Coordinator reports to the Director of Administration.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The duties of the Compliance Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare policy and procedures documents, establish and administer programs to monitor and facilitate LANTA’s compliance with Federal and state programs/regulations, as well as requirements of LANTA insurance carriers as directed by the Director of Administration.
- Prepare policy and procedures documents, establish and administer programs to monitor and facilitate LANTA’s compliance with internal policies and programs as directed by the Director of Administration.
- Prepare (or facilitate the assembling of) and submit required reports and documentation for Federal, state, and internal programs.
- Work with Executive Director and applicable staff to facilitate the implementation and continuous improvement of LANTA’s diversity and civil rights programs including but not limited to Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VI, etc.
- Communicate required compliance actions to the Director of Administration.
- Participate in outreach to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE’s) to engage in LANTA business needs. This position serves as the Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Liaison Officer (DBELO) for LANTA.
- Review all Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Qualifications (RFQ), Invitations to Bid (IFB) and other bidding processes prior to the release of a formal bid request and the review of all submitted bids to ensure compliance of the process.
- Drafting of contracts with successful vendors.
- Maintain a comprehensive list of contracts and notify appropriate LANTA staff of expiration in advance.
- Attend off-site trainings related to duties.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Administration.
- The conduct of many of the duties of this position may require field work.
- Annual verification of vendor clearances via SAM.gov
- Maintain accurate database of Vendor Certificates of Insurance. Communicating to both vendor and applicable LANTA directors when lapses occur.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or a related field.
- Knowledge of Federal Transit Administration and Pennsylvania DOT grant program requirements preferred.
- High skill level in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong aptitude with computer use.
- Strong ability to understand and communicate government program regulations/stipulations.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Five years of experience in related duties.
- This position may require field work and work at offsite locations.

TITLE: Mechanic, LANtaBus

DEPARTMENT: LANTA Maintenance

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Performs routine and minor repairs and preventative maintenance on LANta buses and shop equipment as needed. This includes removing, repairing, and replacing parts and components as necessary, while using tools and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
- Provides varied support to the Operation Department. (e.g., bus pullout, vehicle exchanges, vehicle recovery, snow plowing).
- Conducts accurate and professional PM inspections.
- Troubleshoots vehicle systems on a regular basis, accurately identifying causes of maintenance problems. Recommends and performs subsequent repairs.
- Responds to road calls
- Accurately and professionally documents all actions taken in written and electronic format, completes all necessary forms.
- May assist in providing training and direction to other mechanics.
- Actively and continuously improves professional knowledge, skills, and abilities by participating in routine training sessions.
- Must understand and adhere to departmental, organizational, and industry safety standards and practices.
- Ability to work harmoniously with others and abide by department code of conduct.
- Performs duties of and directs activities of employee of lesser classifications as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- knowledge of electrical systems, air systems, brakes, chassis and suspension, HVAC, diesel/CNG/Hybrid engines, and transmissions.
- knowledge of operating theory, failure diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance practices common to buses and heavy vehicles.
- Ability to read, understand, and use maintenance, repair and parts manuals, computer-based maintenance information systems.
- Ability to use prudent judgment and problem-solving skills to make reasonable and appropriate decisions and recommendations.
- Skills with common mechanic hand tools, pneumatic tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and gas welding.
- Experience working on mass transit vehicles preferred.
- Related past work experience or academic/technical education.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must satisfactorily complete written qualification tests and performance tests.
- Must possess valid CDL driver’s license.
- Must possess tools pertinent to occupation.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Must operate buses in a safe and efficient manner; sell tickets and transfers; distribute route information and respond to consumer information questions in a courteous and knowledgeable manner; register fares and passenger counts and perform necessary public relations and marketing/sales tasks.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Operate buses on various assigned LANTA routes.
- Sell tickets and transfers and maintain stack at adequate levels.
- Answer questions from passengers and general public.
- Handle Emergency conditions safely and quickly.
- Operate two-way radio system per Authority instructions.
- Participate in sales efforts, such as handing out or accepting discount coupons, and distribute information or promotional materials.
- Represent the Authority before the riding and general public.
- Avoid hazardous situations.
- Perform other similar duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma and CDL driver’s license.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Ability to read and understand operating manuals, policy statements and instructions and follow written and verbal directions.
- Knowledge of all LANta Bus routes and operator schedules and LANTA equipment.
- Good past work experience or obvious academic/technical school skills and performance.
- Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public.
- Good driving record including avoidance of accidents and moving violations.
- Knowledge of the Lehigh Valley Road system.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Road and Service 1 and 2 is responsible for cleaning and servicing both buses and facilities. He/she is generally a helper for either Service and Road Personnel or Mechanics.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Road and Service Person 1 and 2 will perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to:
- Fueling and washing of vehicles
- Servicing of buses and minor repairs.
- Road calls to assist with bus repairs
- Service/cleaning of facilities as required
- Perform other related tasks as directed
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma
- Must be able to obtain a CDL driver’s license, or currently possess a current CDL.
- Ability to read and understand service and maintenance manuals
- Follow written and verbal directions
- Demonstrate mechanical ability and aptitude for learning
- Good past work experience or academic/technical school skills and performance
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
